Family Central is an all-volunteer, non-profit parenting support network for parents and care-givers of children from birth through adolescence. Our grassroots movement based in Warwick, NY provides parenting information, resources, and workshops that address the developmental needs of children and the many challenges today’s families face.

Our History
Family Central was officially established in the fall of 2014 and obtained non-profit status under its fiscal sponsor Community 2000. Since its founding, Family Central has partnered with a variety of community organizations to offer monthly workshops that educate, inform, and empower parents and caregivers at the Albert Wisner Public Library in Warwick, NY.

The Significance of the Dandelion
Seeding Connections
Just as the dandelion spreads thousands of seeds, Family Central is seeding social change through conversations across our community about what matters most--the health and well-being of children and families.
Healing
The dandelion is medicinal and a source of nourishment. Family Central believes it can help relieve some of the confusion parents feel in today's world and be a source of hope for families.
Cooperative
Its great taproot brings nutrients from deep within the earth, sharing them with plants closer to the surface. Family Central believes that caring adults working together and tapping into one another's resources can make a difference in the future of our families, our children and our schools.
About Beverly Braxton
Meet the Founder
Beverly Braxton, founder and director of Family Central NY, has been a resident of Warwick, New York since 1973. She is a former educational leader who, throughout her 30 years as a lead teacher in the Warwick Valley Central School District’s Partners in Education (PIE) Program, received numerous teaching awards and honors.
Since her retirement in 2010, she has become a community advocate working on behalf of all Warwick residents. In 2014, Beverly founded Family Central NY, an all-volunteer, non-profit, grassroots parenting support network that provides parenting information, resources, and workshops.
