This concept was brought to life in December of 2021 when Heather Franklin was looking to promote relationship building and literacy between our youngest and oldest generations. Children have the opportunity to read aloud with a senior and both get to benefit, the kids get to practice their literacy skills, while also bringing joy to a senior. Discipline is NOT a Dirty Word is Cornell Cooperative Extension's flagship program that is designed for parents of youth 2-10 years of age. This program is virtual, starting on October 30th for four consecutive weeks. The fee is $40 per family, but we also give the option for scholarships during the registration process. Join Cornell Cooperative Extension for this unique program for parents/ caregivers to attend with their children who are 10-14 years old! Enjoy a family meal, interesting parenting discussions, and youth and family activities. FREE childcare for children 3-9 years old.
This 7-week program includes:
-Fun youth and family activities
-Ways to strengthen family communication
-Why preteens/teens act the way they do
-How to work through problems together
-How to avoid problems with alcohol and drugs.
